The company confirmed that construction of the evaporation ponds has commenced and camp rectification and upgrade works are advancing.

“Site works have commenced including the camp upgrade and preparation of the mining contractor laydown area,” Exterra told the ASX.

“Mining Rehabilitation Services has been awarded the contract to construct the evaporation ponds located to the north of the existing pit. It is expected that construction will take approximately four to six weeks. Dewatering of the open pit and the remnant underground workings will commence on completion of construction.”

Adertisement

Exterra said funding for the pre-production activities is already in place, adding that haul road construction will commence as soon as relevant clearing approvals have been obtained.

“The development programme is advancing as planned and we are very pleased to be able to move into this pre-production phase on the back of the recently completed capital raising,” said Exterra’s Executive Chairman, Mr John Davis.
