Liontown said the program will initially comprise 2,000-3,000m of RC drilling and will test beneath and along strike of spodumene-mineralised pegmatite outcrops.

“Previously reported rock chip sampling of these outcrops has returned numerous high grade lithium and tantalum values,” the company said in a statement to the ASX.

“There has been no previous drilling in the immediate area or beneath the mineralised pegmatites.”

Adertisement

The Kathleen Valley Project comprises 15 granted Mining Leases and one Exploration Licence Application (ELA36/879), covering a total area of 75km2.

Located about 680kmnorth-east of Perth, in close proximity to good transport and energy infrastructure, the project contains a spodumene-bearing pegmatite swarm extending over an area of 3.5km by 1km and represents an outstanding, advanced lithium exploration opportunity with walk-up drilling targets.
