3D Resources announced that the Aboriginal Land Trust has supported the company’s agreement with the Yilka Native Claimants and the Cosmo Newberry Aboriginal Corporation to gain access to the Aboriginal Reserve on which its Cosmo Newberry tenements lie.
“The company is pleased to announce that the Aboriginal Land Trust have supported this agreement and following a recommendation to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, a Mining Entry Permit has been granted to the Company,” 3D Resources told the ASX.
It said the move “paves the way” for the commencement of its planned program of exploration on the Cosmo Newberry area, which is expected to start in the current quarter.
“The company has held tenements over the unexplored greenstone belt around Cosmo Newberry since it listed and has long recognised the prospectivity of the region as demonstrated by the recent exploration success of Gold Roads in the adjacent Yamarna Greenstone belt,” reads the company’s statement.
Cosmo Newbery gold – nickel project area is located 95 km NE of Laverton, in the eastern goldfields of Western Australia.
The Cosmo Newbery prospect consists of granted tenements and tenement applications covering a total area of approximately 470 km2 and extending over a potential strike length of 45 km.
There are few, if any, records of any recent exploration activity within the tenements, despite the continuation of prospective greenstone sequences into this ground.
