Northern Mining announces appointment of new director

Australian exploration and development company Northern Mining has announced the appointment of Mr Gerald Woon to the position of non-executive director and Vice Chairman of the Company.

Mr Woon started his career in the Government sector as Head of Marketing Communications at the Singapore Economic Development Board, where he was responsible for maintaining the Board’s corporate communication needs as well as the communication needs of its multinational and local company clients across vast range of industries.

During his time with the EDB, Mr Woon was also sole media liaison for several ministerial overseas trips and has worked on several multi-government agency initiatives.

In the private sector, he is known as the co-founder and director of Cogent Communications, where he conducted most of the company’s consulting services for IPO launches, Investor Relations and Public Relations.

Mr Woon has also accumulated vast experience in advising companies on crisis communications, and was involved in the corporate recovery of China Aviation Oil (Singapore) Corporation and several other companies.

His rich portfolio also includes working at Provenance Capital – a boutique Corporate Finance company – where he was involved in deal origination and fund raising.

Mr Woon holds a Master of Science (Marketing) degree from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree from Monash University.

In addition, he has also completed the Capital Markets & Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) Module 4A –Rules and Regulations For Advising On Corporate Finance, and is a member of the EDB Society.
