IMARC connects the international mining and resources industry with global investors, government and technology through master classes, presentations, debates and structured matchmaking to provide a one-stop marketing intelligence, profile and business development solutions.

In her opening speech, Ms D’Ambrosio pointed out that IMARC played a key role in helping Victorian mining, technology and professional services companies establish connections on a global scale and boost their business.

Some of the most important players in the mining industry are headquartered in Melbourne, including Australia’s biggest mining companies such as BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Newcrest and Orica.

Aside from this, 21,000 Victorians are employed in a range of businesses that export their know-how to resources projects all over the world.

The three-day event will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“The Andrews Labor Government is committed to supporting a strong and sustainable mining industry that attracts more investment and creates jobs in Victoria,” Ms D’Ambrosio said.

“Victorian companies in the resources equipment, technology and services sector are world leading and internationally competitive. IMARC exposes these local companies to a global audience. With the downturn in mining exploration and construction, Australia is entering the biggest mining production boom in history with Victoria set to benefit as the country’s biggest exporter of mining equipment, technology and services.”

Last year’s inaugural conference attracted over 2,000 delegates from more than 31 countries.
