South Australian mining exploration company Marmota Energy Limited announced that drilling of new copper targets will commence this week at its 100% owned West Melton tenement on the Yorke Peninsula.
Marmota said that drilling at West Melton (Champion prospect) in March 2014 intercepted high grade copper mineralisation at shallow depths, including 6m at 2.56% copper from 27m.
According to the company, subsequent work has identified new targets on the West Melton tenement, designed to test for additional copper mineralisation in the area surrounding the Champion prospect.
“Marmota has received all necessary approvals to conduct an air core drilling program over 4 targets on its 100% owned West Melton tenement. Drilling is planned to commence and be completed during the month of April 2016,” the company said in a statement to the ASX.
“The drilling program is planned to comprise 1,900 metres of aircore drilling over 4 target areas and is anticipated to take approximately 1 week.”
