Western Australia’s Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety is investigating Warden’s Court decision in relation to Pantoro South Pty Ltd’s objection to an exploration licence application by True Fella Pty Ltd.
The Warden determined, on 18 August, that True Fella’s exploration application was invalid, referring to the Section 58 statement included with the application.
The decision will be thoroughly examined by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, including any potential impact on the existing guidelines provided under Section 58 of the Mining Act.
Minister for Mines and Petroleum Bill Johnston said he has been informed of the Warden’s Court decision relating to True Fella’s exploration licence application.
“Industry can be assured the McGowan Government is taking this matter very seriously, and will act to ensure certainty and security of tenure proponents. This will include any steps necessary to ensure the validity of granted exploration licences” Minister Johnston stated.
According to the statement, the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety continues to make sure the security of title and integrity of the register is of prime importance in the administration of the resources industry in Western Australia.
