Jemena has appointed Kate Webster as its new Group CFO after a competitive recruitment process.

Jemena Managing Director David Gillespie said Webster’s extensive experience in the energy and utility sector.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kate to the Jemena team and are confident she is a natural fit for our Group and will make a strong contribution to the business,” Gillespie stated.

He noted that Webster’s expertise in the energy sector and its financial challenges is crucial for achieving the company’s net zero goals.

According to him, Webster has been employed in both in-house and consulting roles in the energy sector since 2001.

“Throughout her career Kate has held several roles including most recently as CFO and co-CFO for a number of Australian-based energy infrastructure businesses. In these roles she has overseen several successful capital raising programs. Kate’s experience also includes international positions in the energy sector, notably in the United Kingdom,” he stated.

Gillespie added that Webster possesses a profound understanding of ESG frameworks within the financial sector.

Webster is set to take on the role of CFO for Jemena and Zinfra, both of whom are part of the same parent company, in early 2024.
