AGL unveiled the Electrify Now website to provide personalised recommendations to its residential customers to highlight the financial and carbon savings of electrifying their homes.

Customers can choose which upgrade best fits their budget and lifestyle with AGL’s Electrify Now program, which enables them to understand their personal energy bill and carbon savings if their home switched to solar, batteries, heat pump hot water, reverse cycle space heating, induction cooktops, or an electric vehicle (EV).

According to AGL, an all-electric home emits fewer carbon emissions by adding solar panels and replacing items like gas hot water heaters and petrol cars with contemporary, efficient electric products.

Customers can enter their information into the Electrify Now platform, which analyses their unique energy statistics and profile to create an expected energy bill and carbon savings customised to that client and their energy use.

It also offers consumers the payback duration of their investment and connects them to AGL’s network of third-party trusted installers to assist them in getting started on their electrification journey.

According to AGL Chief Customer Officer Jo Egan, the data-driven tailored recommendations on the Electrify Now website are intended to assist customers in making an informed decision about investing in an all-electric lifestyle.

“AGL understands that upgrading to a more energy-efficient home can be confusing and complex for homeowners. We’ve created Electrify Now to simplify this process and assist customers to access the benefits of a more electric home,” Egan said.

Egan stated that customers are better equipped to choose their homes and budget by receiving personalised suggestions and connecting to AGL’s trusted network of third-party installers. Egan added that some of the recommendations include the advantages of installing solar and batteries, as well as the replacement of gas appliances, as well as presenting the investment’s payback period.

Egan said AGL is assisting customers in reducing energy prices and emissions, a primary priority of AGL’s new accelerated decarbonisation strategy.

“Electrification is the future and AGL is pleased to see state and federal governments rolling out policies that support energy efficiency and electrification technologies for homes and businesses,” Egan stated.

Egan added, “AGL is committed to enabling the electrification of our customers’ homes, while considering issues of affordability. As cost-of-living pressures continue to impact Australians, AGL is here to support customers in making affordable energy choices, while also considering their carbon footprint.”
