Emu Apple, which last produced at a rate of approximately 50 bpd in 2014, is part of the Kincora assets which the company recently acquired from Origin Energy for A$13 million.

The Company’s CEO Robbert de Weijer said surface equipment inspection and checks were in their final stages, including the installation of a new hydraulic system to operate downhole pumping.

He said restart work at the oil field is progressing as planned and is expected to be completed by mid-August.

“Starting production from the Kincora assets marks a key milestone in Armour’s transformation from a pure exploration play to an exploration and production company,” he stated.

“We are very pleased with progress we have been making at Emu Apple and we will be aiming to increase production from this field over the coming years based on the work programs we are currently developing.”

Armour also announced that it is evaluating its other production assets in the Surat Basin with respect to restarting production.
