Australian Pacific LNG announced a new gas supply deal with Queensland Nitrates Pty Ltd (QNP), a manufacturer of ammonium nitrate worth 1.55 PJ for their facility in Central Queensland.

In a statement, Australia Pacific LNG said the facility employs nearly 100 local residents, all full-time.

Chief Executive Officer Khoa Dao announced the new agreement. Dao said Australia Pacific LNG was glad to provide the Australian manufacturer with a one-year gas supply agreement for 2023 in addition to the multi-year, competitively priced gas supply agreement signed last year.

Dao expressed his happiness in supplying more gas to the domestic market and for promoting jobs in Australian manufacturing.

Adertisement

“We are one of the largest providers of gas to customers on the east coast, and it was pleasing we could provide further incremental volumes in 2023 to help the market navigate unprecedented challenges,” Dao said.

Australia Pacific LNG delivered more than 150 PJs of gas to domestic customers in FY2022, the majority of which were covered by medium- and long-term gas supply agreements at fixed rates made well in advance of this year’s market instability.
