The 2nd Annual Conference of the Future Energy Exports Cooperative Research Centre (FEnEx CRC) will be held in Adelaide next month to address the continued challenge of the energy transition and Net Zero.
The conference, which will take place on the 11th and 12th of May 2023 at the Adelaide Convention Centre, will be attended by some of Australia’s top researchers focusing on decarbonising energy exports.
With the theme “Develop, de-risk, and decarbonise this decade and beyond,” the conference is an essential venue for learning about the latest industry-driven research and advancement projects geared to help Australia navigate towards a better energy exports future.
Australia’s former Chief Scientist Professor Alan Finkel will deliver the opening plenary, followed by speakers from the Climate Change Authority, the Australian Petroleum Producers and Explorers Association, Hysata, Beach Energy, and ARUP.
There will also be updates and insights from research leaders working on or developing FEnEx CRC projects like Net Zero Australia, Clean Marine Fuels, Digital Competencies, Ammonia Iron Ore Reduction, and International CO2 Shipping. Respectable analyst Saul Kavonic will also share his perspective on the future of Australia’s gas industry.
According to FEnEx CRC CEO Professor Eric May, the conference supports collaboration and learning across the business, public, and academic sectors to achieve advancements in the traditional oil and gas sector and expedite Australia’s aspiration to be a green energy superpower.
“This conference is about bringing together the entire energy value chain and encouraging face-to-face collaboration,” Professor May said.
Professor May stated that FEnEx CRC, founded by a coalition of industry, government, and academia, is quickly gaining international recognition for its innovation and highlighted the need to put together an influential conference agenda showing the globally-leading solutions Australia is working on.
“The conference, with its theme ‘Develop, de-risk, decarbonise this decade and beyond, represents an accessible way for Participants to learn about the key challenges and new opportunities as Australian industry continues to engage with the energy transition,” Professor May added.
