As part of a refresh of its ICT capabilities, the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry will collaborate with Accenture beginning in 2024 to deliver Enterprise Service Management services.
The program’s Senior Responsible Officer, Wendie Boyd, announced the agreement as part of its ICT strategic sourcing approach, now branded as Buy IT Smart.
“This partnership will set our modern foundations for how we manage ICT requests, changes, incidents, problems, configuration and capacity – ensuring our ICT services remain smooth and stable,” Boyd said.
According to him, the project will facilitate the provision of the Department’s core ICT services, including ICT Service Management, enabling services like Service Integration and Management, and IT Service Management tools.
“We will partner with Accenture to onboard, enable and orchestrate our many internal and external ICT suppliers, providing streamlined ICT services that our staff, clients and industry need,” she stated.
Under the partnership, the Department will transition to ServiceNow, an IT service management system, enhancing its industrial strength and support for a multi-vendor environment.
“The importance of our work across trade, policy, regulation, and biosecurity means that our digital products, platforms and tools need to be able to flex and innovate to support future change. This demands integrated solutions that streamline imports and exports and underpin efficient policy, regulation and service delivery for our clients and the Australian public,” Boyd added.
The department is implementing market-aligned, flexible, and scalable bundles under the Buy IT Smart program to modernise its ICT sourcing portfolio over the next 12 months.
