Downer EDI inks $60m contract to maintain haul trucks in Queensland’s Bowen Basin

Leading provider of engineering and infrastructure management services Downer EDI Limited (Downer) announced that it has signed a two-year contract with a major mining company “to maintain haul truck fleets at two coal mines in the Bowen Basin in Queensland.”

Under the terms of the contract, valued at around $60 million, work is to commence on 1 February, 2015.

Around 110 people will be employed to service around 90 haul trucks.

According to the company’s ASX Announcement, Grant Fenn, the Chief Executive Officer of Downer, said “winning the contract was recognition of Downer’s maintenance capability of mining fleet and systems.”
