Hughes Drilling awarded overburden blast hole contract by Yancoal Australia

Hughes Drilling, Australia’s largest coal production and delineation drilling specialist, has secured a long-term agreement to provide overburden drilling services to three mines owned and operated by the Yancoal Group.

According to Hughes Drilling’s statement to the ASX, the three-year contract commences on 1 July – with an option to extend for a further year – and entails providing drilling services at Yancoal Australia’s Yarrabee, Cameby Downs and Duralie coal mines.

Hughes has an extensive experience in the delivery of high quality production drilling projects for Australia’s major mine operators and owners. The company has sustained continued growth over the past two decades, with long-term contracts in place with tier 1 clients all over the country.

Yancoal Australia is a business focused on the Australian coal industry and represents one of the country’s largest export coal miners, producing both thermal and metallurgical coal at its mines in Queensland and New South Wales. Yancoal also manages on behalf of its majority shareholder two other mines located in Queensland and Western Australia.
