Lucapa reports first sale of Lulo diamonds for 2017

Lucapa Diamond Company completed the first sale of Lulo diamonds in 2017 for a total of A$4.9 million.

Lucapa said the parcel of 2,946 carats of Lulo diamonds sold at an average price per carat of A$1,671 and included a 55 carat diamond recovered in December.

According to the company, the diamonds were sold by Lulo alluvial diamond company Sociedade Mineira Do Lulo (Lucapa 40% owner and operator) through the Angolan Government’s diamond arm SODIAM.

Lucapa also said that the diamonds in the latest sale parcel were the first to be cleaned by the new diamond deep boiling facility installed at Lulo during the December 216 Quarter.
