Cokal Limited issued updates on the Bumi Barito Mineral (BBM) metallurgical coal mine.

Over the following months, Cokal said BBM’s metallurgical coal production would reach the next ramp-up stage.

Following the successful construction of the coal haul road to the Batu Tuhup Jetty, Cokal claims that increased transport infrastructure capacity helped the production ramp-up.

Four additional fleets of mining equipment will be deployed at BBM in the coming months, with two fleets arriving in May and two more in June.

Cokal’s first fleet of 13 haul trucks has been commissioned and will begin full-time hauling operations next week, transporting coal to the Batu Tuhup Jetty via the newly completed haul road.

An additional 15 haul trucks will be added soon, with five arriving in June and 10 arriving in July, bringing Cokal’s haul trucks to 28.

An external hauling contractor will be providing an extra 20 to 30 haul trucks by July to work alongside Cokal’s trucks to supplement transport infrastructure capacity.
