Newcrest Mining Limited appoints new General Counsel and Company Secretary

Newcrest Mining Limited (ASX: NCM) yesterday announced the appointment of Francesca Lee as General Counsel and Company Secretary.

According to the press release issued on the PR Newswire, the appointment of Ms Lee is effective March 31st, 2014.

Since October 2003, Ms Lee served in the capacity of General Counsel and Company Secretary of OZ Minerals Limited, a gold and copper mining company based in Melbourne, and its antecedent companies.

Ms Lee has been part of the mining industry for 26 years, gaining experience across various legal and commercial roles at BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and Comalco and is also a member of the Australian Takeovers Panel and spent several years as Vice President of Citibank’s Structured Finance department at their Melbourne office.

“We are delighted that Francesca is joining the senior executive team at Newcrest. Her skills and experience will enable her to make a substantial contribution to Newcrest’s legal and governance processes,” said Newcrest’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Greg Robinson.
