Provaris Energy Ltd has executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Total Eren to continue working together on developing strategies for bringing green hydrogen projects to Asia and Europe, where Provaris’ compressed hydrogen supply chain can be used.
Total Eren, a leading French-based renewable energy Independent Power Producer (IPP), specialises in developing, financing, constructing, operating, and maintaining renewable energy power plants worldwide, primarily solar and wind.
The MOU establishes a framework for Provaris and Total Eren to collaborate on identification and evaluation. Total Eren is currently developing green hydrogen projects that can use Provaris’ GH2 Carriers for bulk transport of compressed hydrogen in markets that require imported volumes of pure gaseous green hydrogen.
Provaris Managing Director and CEO Martin Carolan described Total Eren as an ambitious renewable energy company with a global portfolio of green hydrogen projects under development for import into markets like Europe and Asia.
“Our discussion with Total Eren over time have identified a strong alignment on the commercial and technical benefits of compression for the storage and transport of hydrogen, and we look forward to a closer relationship to facilitate and accelerate the delivery of the first fleet of GH2 Carriers,” Carolan said.
The identification and evaluation of opportunities for importing hydrogen into Europe and Asia using Provaris’ GH2 Carriers, as well as opportunities for a bulk compressed hydrogen storage solution, utilising design concepts created by Provaris for a floating storage, are all included in the scope of the cooperation agreement.
Project opportunities have been identified by Total Eren and Provaris for further technical and commercial feasibility to be progressed. The participation and role of each party would be agreed upon based on each project’s feasibility outcomes.
