“I am very pleased to award the Nova processing plant contract to GR Engineering Services. GRES is very experienced in building these processing plants and has a very successful track record of doing so in Western Australia,” said Mark Bennett, Managing Director of Sirius Resources, in an ASX Announcement.

Under the terms of the agreement, work is to begin immediately and the plant should be finished by November 2016.

“We are proud to be associated with Sirius and we look forward to our involvement in the development of the Nova Nickel Project, one of the most significant Australian base metal resources developments of recent times. GR Engineering has demonstrated that it has the technical and operational capabilities to successfully deliver the project and looks forward to working with Sirius to achieve this outcome,” said GR Engineering’s Managing Director, Mr Geoff Jones.

Adertisement

“In a short time, Sirius has advanced the Nova Nickel Project from discovery to development, a testament to the quality of the project and the management team involved. We look forward to working with Sirius and playing an important role in the development of the project.”

The company also announced a $3 million deal with Future Power WA Pty Ltd for the construction of the 11kv overhead power line at the Nova Nickel Project.

Sirius began work on the Nova nickel-copper project near Balladonia after getting all the necessary statutory approvals about four months ago.

The huge Nova deposit was discovered in 2012. Output is expected to start in late 2016.
