South32 awards Alliance with 3-year contract extension

Ad hock air charter services provider Alliance announced that it has signed contract extensions for South32’s Cannington and Gemco mines, where it has performed air services since 2006 and 2009, respectively.

Alliance Chief Executive Lee Schofield said the 3-year contract extensions were a testament to the company’s ability to deliver world class services to major players in the mining sector.

“We are very proud of this extension as it provides great acknowledgement of our ability to provide South32 with a safe, integrated, reliable and cost effective air services,” Mr Schofield said.

“I would also like to acknowledge the contribution of our team in North Queensland where we have long established permanent regional offices with dedicated aircraft, crew and maintenance facilities to service our Queensland and Northern Territory customers.”

Together with the South32 renewal, Alliance has now renewed 8 contracts in the last twelve months as well as winning the Santos contract for the Copper Basin and a weekly service for Toll Services to Christmas Island.

The company operates a fleet of 15 Fokker 100, 8 Fokker 70LR jet aircraft and 5 Fokker 50 turboprops from its operations based in Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Auckland.
