Strandline Resources Limited has appointed Jozsef Patarica as its new Chief Executive Officer.

According to Strandline, Patarica has extensive operational and management expertise in the resources sector, including the mineral sands sector.

Strandline Chair Didier Murcia stated that the company had grown swiftly from a tiny explorer to a significant mineral sands producer, necessitating more resources across the business.

“Jozsef brings invaluable technical knowledge and management experience. His thorough knowledge of the mineral sands industry, extending from exploration and development through to processing and production, will be immensely valuable to Strandline as we unlock the full value of our outstanding Coburn project in WA,” Murcia said.

According to Murcia, Managing Director Luke Graham and the Strandline team have done an outstanding job in developing Coburn safely and in accordance with the development plan, especially given the resources industry’s significant labour and supply chain constraints, high-cost inflation, and long delays.

“Jozsef’s appointment will help lighten Luke’s heavy workload and enable him to dedicate more time to corporate strategy matters, market-facing activities and opportunities which will drive our next chapter of business growth,” Murcia added.

Patarica has substantial operational and management experience in Australia and Africa. Strandline noted that he has successfully transitioned various initiatives from the development phase into sustainable operations.

As Chief Executive Officer of Grande Cote Operations, he supervised the ramp-up to nameplate capacity of Mineral Deposits Limited’s world-class mineral sands operation in Senegal, West Africa. This entailed optimising the Mineral Resource and the economics of the project.

Patarica was also instrumental in the construction of the Fosterville Gold Mine, which is today Victoria’s largest gold producer. The operation just crossed a critical milestone, generating 4Moz since its inception and employing over 800 people.

Graham will step down as CEO and remain Managing Director upon Patarica’s appointment.
