Platina Resources Limited (ASX:PGM) will soon conduct a new soil sampling program for its Challa Gold Project in Western Australia.

The latest soil program is a follow-up to its initial sampling in November 2020 which confirmed the presence of “highly prospective zones.”

In its October reconnaissance program, Platina established a strong correlation to mineralised outcropping veins from 696 soil sample assays. Returned grades reached an impressive 1.62 grams/tonne (g/t) gold, 5.89 g/t gold in rock chip samples.

Platina’s new program should allow the company to distinguish anomalous bedrock through the transported cover.

“Historically, Challa has not been systematically explored due to the transported sands and slits which cover a large part fo the project area,”  Platina Managing Director Corey Nolan said.

“Our new soil sampling has demonstrated soil sampling can be an effective and low-cost method for identifying gold anomalism.”

Acquired in June 2020, Platina’s Challa tenements consist of numerous underground and open-pit gold mining operations located between the Mt. Magnet and the Sandstone gold districts in Western Australia.

Most of the sampled areas in Challa had large mineralised areas that could be studied and excavated with less-costly procedures.

“Most of the areas we sampled have transported sands and slits shallowed than expected which makes it easier to detect geochemical anomalies in the bedrock through soil sampling alone than more costly aircore drilling,” said Nolan.

Platina is an Australia-based company focused on returning shareholder value by advancing early-stage metals projects through exploration, feasibility, permitting and into development.
