Excelsior Mining announces sale of first copper cathode from Gunnison Copper Project

Mineral exploration and production company Excelsior Mining has announced the sale of first copper cathode from the Gunnison Copper Project in Cochise County, Arizona.

Located in Cochise County, Arizona, the Gunnison Copper Project is a low cost, environmentally friendly in-situ recovery copper extraction operation that is permitted to 56.7 million kilograms per year of copper cathode production.

Excelsior commenced copper cathode production at the project in late 2020, with a view to achieving full, nameplate, capacity of 11.3 million kilogram per annum by late 2021.

The company yesterday announced that a total of 40 000 kilograms of copper cathode were sold under the off-take agreement with Trafigura Trading, inked March 11, 2020.
