The Farm Business Resilience Program has been extended to continue to provide Victorian farmers with valuable skills training.
The Program aims to help Victorian farm businesses by allowing new and experienced farmers to expand their knowledge and abilities to better prepare for the future and adapt to a changing climate.
Agriculture Victoria Project Leader Kit Duncan-Jones stated that while Victorian farmers successfully manage uncertainty and complexity on a daily basis, the farming business is becoming more difficult as farmers face significant risks such as future droughts, natural disasters, and other industry challenges.
“The program supports farmers striving to better manage their business and strengthen their farm’s ability to withstand future shocks. If you’re a farmer who wants to put your plans on paper and commit your time to strengthen your knowledge and skills, this program will assist you to set up your farm for success, now and into the future,” Duncan-Jones said.
Until June 2024, the Farm Business Resilience Program will be delivered both online and in person. It comprises short courses, workshops, webinars, field day sessions, and farm walks to meet the diverse needs of the farming community.
Farmers can do their own business assessments and plan using the Program’s materials, which include the Farm Fitness Checklist and the Farm Business Plan Template.
The Future Drought Support of the Australian Government and the Future Agriculture Skills Capacity Fund of the Victorian Government jointly funded the Farm Business Resilience Program.
