Queensland farmers and industry groups are urged to review the draft AgTech Roadmap and provide feedback to help the agriculture sector develop into a cutting-edge AgTech and innovation powerhouse.

The Roadmap highlights critical steps for producers who wish to stay ahead of the technological curve.

Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries and Minister for Rural Communities Mark Furner stated that world markets are fast changing, and new AgTech will help secure food supply chains and agricultural jobs while ensuring Queensland products match future market expectations.

“That’s why we’re developing a roadmap for agribusinesses, producers, developers, education providers, governments and investors that sets out our plan for accelerated development and adoption of agricultural technology,” Minister Furner said.

According to Minister Further, the AgTech Roadmap will boost Queensland’s digital agriculture capabilities and expand economic possibilities across the State, building on other Queensland Government commitments on energy, good jobs, and skills.

“To thrive in such a fast-changing marketplace, producers need access to AgTech solutions that meet their specific challenges, and the roadmap outlines the actions that will empower them to adopt and use those solutions,” Minister Furner added.
