Winsome Resources announced the appointment of two new senior personnel in Canada as its Quebec operations continue to expand.

Dr Genevieve Morinville has been named Vice President of Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs, bringing nearly two decades of experience working in the ESG field as a consultant and manager on Canadian and worldwide projects.

According to Winsome, as it places greater emphasis on ESG performance and outcomes, Dr Morinville’s role serves as a direct conduit for environmental, community, government and Indigenous stakeholders in Canada.

Dr Morinville will oversee Winsome’s development and execution of a new sustainability strategy, drive interaction with First Nations communities, manage and maintain environmental management plans, and oversee regulatory and environmental approvals. Dr Morinville will officially start with Winsome on 1 May 2023.

Antoine Fournier has been appointed Vice President of Exploration, bringing with him a wealth of expertise as an exploration geologist, most recently as a lead geoscientist at SOQUEM, the Québec Government’s mineral exploration and development arm of Investissement Québec.

Fournier will oversee the Company’s expanding exploration portfolio, with a particular emphasis on expanding resource drilling plans and identifying new exploration prospects within Winsome’s existing property portfolio.

Carl Caumartin, who formerly held both the roles of VP Exploration and GM Canada, will now be able to shift into the full-time GM Canada job, representing Winsome throughout Canada and directing the administration of all in-country activities.

“Winsome Resources has experienced a period of sustained growth and has made these fantastic appointments to help drive our next phase of lithium exploration and pathway to resource development in the James Bay region of Quebec,” Winsome Managing Director Chris Evans said.

“Dr Morinville and Mr Fournief bring clear skill sets to Winsome as we look to maximise the potential and development pathway for our recent Cancet and Adina lithium discoveries, as well as continue regional exploration activity. I look forward to working with them and Country Manager Carl Caumartin, who continues to head up the growing team as well as play a tremendous Company ambassador role in Canada,” Evans added.
