Winsome Resources Limited has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire the Tilly Project near the Adina Project in Quebec, Canada.

According to the company, the acquisition boosts its tenure in the James Bay region to 856.6 km2, maintaining its position as one of the largest landholders in the region.

Tilly overlies a significant east-west regional structural corridor and is near tonalites and other intrusive rocks believed to be the source rocks for lithium-caesium-tantalum pegmatites at Adina and elsewhere in the area.

The project area is principally underlain by the Archean Salmon River Formation, interpreted to uncomfortably overly greenstones of the adjacent Trieste Formation.

Adertisement

Lithologies are primarily metasedimentary in origin, including biotite, amphibole, garnet and sillimanite paragneisses, as well as local iron formations.

The company is currently in the process of compiling all publicly available geological, geochemical, geophysical and topographic data relating to the project, saying the targets generated from the datasets will provide the basis for field exploration to be carried out on the property later in 2023.

The field exploration program will be identical to the successful method used at Adina. It will include the visual identification of pegmatite outcrops, rock chip sampling and soil sampling, which may be followed by stripping to better expose key outcrops and channel sampling.

According to Winsome Managing Director Chris Evans, the proximity of Tilly to Adina means that the initial work programmes can be integrated with the activities the company is planning for Adina in the following field season.

“Following our success at Adina and Cancet, we have had numerous opportunities to increase our landholdings. In evaluating these we follow a strict process to determine whether projects enhance the development of our flagship projects, and accordingly, whether these opportunities are value accretive for our shareholders,” he added.
