Cokal Limited has released updates on the Bumi Barito Mineral (BBM) metallurgical coal mine.

Cokal reports that coal mining at BBM is continuing to expand, with coal extraction from Seam I and Seam J continuing. By the end of May, the mining contractor will have deployed the fourth fleet of mining equipment, continuing to increase production volumes.

According to Cokal, the transport of product coal via BBM to Batu Tuhup Jetty Haul Roap is increasing following its recent development, commissioning, and haulage trials.

After successful trial runs, Cokal’s first fleet of haul trucks for transporting coal to the Batu Tuhup Jetty has begun operation, and an additional fleet of new trucks is currently being commissioned. Cokal now owns and operates (through PT BSN) a fleet of 13 haul vehicles. An additional 15 units have been ordered, and the company will realise the commercial benefits of providing coal transport services to the BBM mining operations.

Adertisement

Cokal will hire a second coal haulage contractor within the next two months to support BBM’s production expansion.

Coal haulage operations will include both Cokal’s haulage trucks and services from a third-party haulage service provider.

Cokal’s most recent successful capital raise provided funding for the initial purchase of the haul vehicles.
