The grants program is part of the four-year Agricultural Sciences Research and Development Fund, made possible by the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program.

According to the Minister’s announcement, interested parties can apply for grants of up to $500,000.

“The first funding round, which has $7 million available, is now open for grants of between $20,000 and $500, 000,” the Minister said.

“The rest of the funds will be available in the second round in 2016. The grants are designed to assist recipients to grow and develop so that they are in a strong position to pursue high value export markets.”

The deadline for expressions of interest to obtain a Grower Group Research and Development Grant is 2 December, 2015.

“The money can be for a range of improvements, from streamlining supply chain linkages, to value-adding or developing new products, to attracting capital investment or enhancing farm productivity,” Minister Baston said.
