Aeris Resources Limited has issued an update on its drilling activities at the Jaguar Operations in Western Australia (WA).
Aeris reported that the results from the Bentley deposit indicated high-grade mineralisation.
According to the company, the Bentley deposit consists of 36 discrete sulphide lenses, traced over a 500 m strike corridor and extending 1,300 m below surface.
Since the discovery of the deposit in 2008, resource definition drilling has consistently increased the Mineral Resource base through the discovery of new sulphide lenses, down plunge and along strike from known lenses, the most notable recent discovery being the Turbo deposit.
Additionally, underground resource definition and grade control drilling activities have confirmed the size and grade continuity of the previously reported Bacalar and Java Deeps lenses and outlined the potential to extend the known resource below the Java Deeps site.
Java Deeps consists of two mineralisation styles, the massive lens on the dolerite contact and a sequence of strongly remobilised disseminated lenses in the hanging wall.
The massive lens is high tenor, rich in zinc, copper, silver and gold, and is up to 3 m true thickness, striking up to 100 m across and 140 m down plunge.
Aeris said the proximity and spacing between the new lenses, with respect to the current and planned mine development, offers a significant upside in increasing the Mineral Resource and improving the tonnes per vertical metre of development, whilst providing additional mining fronts from each level.
Commenting on the results, Aeris Executive Chairman Andre Labuschagne said the latest drilling demonstrates the exploration potential at Bentley and supports the company’s view that the site’s mineral resource will continue to grow.
“Work is underway by the team at Jaguar to include Bacalar and Java Deeps in the Bentley deposit Mineral Resource Estimate and technical studies will commence to incorporate them into the life-of-mine plan,” he added.
