Alpha HPA receives $8.53M in additional funds under Federal Government’s CMDP

Alpha HPA Limited has announced that it received the second tranche drawdown of $8.53 million under the Federal Government‘s Critical Minerals Development Program (CMDP) following the company’s submission of its first milestone report.

The drawdown forms part of the $15.5 million CMDP grant previously announced by the company.

The first tranche payment of $6.82 million was received in November 2022.

According to the company, the funds will be used to expand and accelerate the production capability of the Stage 1 precursor production facility (PPF) facility at Gladstone, Queensland.

Upgrades include the expansion of Stage 1 PPF production capacity of aluminium nitrate and aluminium sulphate and the facilitation of up to 10 tonnes per annum of additional capacity of high-purity alumina and boehmite production.

Other upgrades include the installation of a large rooftop solar array and battery storage capacity and the addition of tableting capacity to produce HPA tablets for sapphire glass growth.

According to the company, all major equipment orders are now finalised, and the first deliveries of the HPA circuit have been received at the site.
