Sedgman, a mineral processing company owned by CIMIC Group, has announced the launch of its new business intelligence platform SEDGMETRIX.
SEDGMETRIX is an internet of things (IoT) ecosystem of tools for remotely monitoring the state and optimising the performance of any operation or asset, such as renewable energy, mining, mineral processing, oil and gas, or supply chain.
SEDGMETRIX is a data source and commodity agnostic platform that adds value to any operation by assisting teams in accessing and acting on real-time data to maintain dependable and effective asset operation. Furthermore, visibility and foresight on necessary sustainability measures, as well as tracking asset performance against environmental and emissions-related targets, are essential for early response to on-site conditions.
The new platform supports high-performing remote locations, links clients to their operation, and provides automatic 24-hour monitoring and rapid identification of anomalous asset performance, giving peace of mind and saving time on human performance checks.
The platform is used by a team of over 50 remote operational engineering specialists to provide expert help without the need to travel to the location. This allows Sedgman to efficiently assist existing activities in Australia while also having the ability to help operations throughout the world.
CIMIC Group Executive Chairman Juan Santamaria said SEDGMETRIX is the latest addition to CIMIC Group’s in-house development of new software solutions.
“Digital integration and visually dynamic platforms equip our teams to improve safety, delivery, asset availability, and lifecycle performance in multiple sectors, including roads, rail, resources, and renewables,” Santamaria stated.
According to Sedgman Managing Director Grant Fraser, SEDGMETRIX gives transparency on the present state of their asset as well as asset-critical data to guarantee informed decisions may be made in a timely way.
“Effective integration of the SEDGMETRIX platform into asset operations supports both operational and sustainability improvements,” Fraser said.
According to CIMIC Group, Sedgman has a long history of mineral processing and innovation. Sedgman has raised the bar for excellence and innovation for clients in base and precious metals, industrial minerals, and iron ore since 1980.
