Develop Global Limited has signed a collaborative agreement with Tjiwarl Contracting Services (TCS) to establish a range of commercial joint ventures (JV) that will provide contracting services to mine sites on Tjiwarl Determined land and other areas.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, Develop will help TCS establish, fund and operate the business and let it assume full ownership once the latter has established the required capability.

The collaboration will also provide TCS with greater access to Develop’s supply chain, contracts, volumes of business and capability development, with the overall goal of delivering long-term benefits to the Tjiwarl Community.

The companies have already identified contracting opportunities, including the run-of-mine (ROM) pad management at Bellevue Gold’s Bellevue Gold project in Western Australia (WA).

The agreement enables the companies to work together to secure the JV contracts at Bellevue, including the ROM pad management and light vehicle servicing contract.

The parties estimate that the contracts and other opportunities could have a potential combined value of $50 million over three years.

Other potential contracting opportunities for the JV include the provision of regional freight services between Kalgoorlie and the Bellevue gold project to service the needs of Develop, the provision of labour to Develop subsidiary Premium Mining Personnel Pty Limited, and the provision of personal protection equipment and worker transport.

Managing Director Bill Beament said the JV framework in place has the potential to create economic benefits for the TCS community.

“This approach is aimed at helping to ensure that members have the skills, knowledge, experience and funding to self-determine their futures. That’s why the agreement allows for Develop’s interests in the JV to be transferred to TCS for no sale price at the appropriate time,” Beament stated.

He added that the collaboration agreement could also help improve Aboriginal lives significantly.
