DevEx Resources Limited has identified a number of weak-moderate electromagnetic (EM) conductors along the eastern margin of the mafic-ultramafic intrusion at the Sovereign Ni-Cu-PGE Project in Western Australia.

A ground-based moving loop electromagnetic (MLEM) survey that is currently in progress has identified the conductors.

In recent months, the MLEM survey has focused on testing the eastern edge of the Sovereign mafic-ultramafic intrusive complex, where surface geochemistry surveys by DevEx have found multiple palladium, platinum, and gold anomalies (Pd+Pt+Au) within a larger zone of elevated cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), and copper (Cu).

The MLEM survey has uncovered a substantial mid-time anomaly, measuring approximately one kilometre in length and spanning multiple lines. Within this anomaly, three steeply descending, weak-moderate conductors with a conductance of ~65 siemens have been modelled at depths beginning 100m below the surface and corresponding to ultramafic rocks identified in shallow reconnaissance air-core drilling.

According to DevEx, the conductors have the potential to represent semi-massive to disseminated sulphides, but they have not yet been tested by drilling. Their proximity beneath ultramafic rocks at the eastern margin of the Sovereign mafic-ultramafic intrusion makes them a compelling exploration target for priority drilling in the coming months, as soon as regulatory approvals are obtained.

Exploration of the mafic-ultramafic intrusion to the south of the conductors continues at Sovereign using ground-based EM.
