Evolution Mining Limited announced that the resource extension drilling program at Ernest Henry had yielded initial assay results.
According to Evolution Mining, the findings support encouraging mineralisation expansions outside the Mine Extension Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) area, indicating a bigger mineralisation footprint at depth.
“We continue to see encouraging drill results from the exploration drill program at Ernest Henry, highlighting the exciting potential for growth at this world class operation. The latest drill results confirm extensions of mineralisation that provide further upside to the Mine Extension PFS which remains on track to complete in the June 2023 quarter,” Evolution Mining Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Lawrie Conway said.
Initial assay results from the first three drillholes targeting up-plunge extensions to projected mineralisation north of the Mine Extension PFS have yielded grades consistent with previously announced Mineral Resource grades. The grade and width of these intersections, in particular, support the continuity of mineralisation outside the PFS area.
Together with previously reported drilling data, the company stated that the findings illustrate the enormous expansion prospects that exist beyond the currently modelled resource regions:
- Depth extensions beneath and between the Main orebody and Ernie Junior
- Recent Bert drill hole intercepts near the pit show that mineralisation is open, with the possibility of a new orebody developing parallel to and stratigraphically beneath the Main orebody.
