Minister for Energy Bill Johnston will fly to Singapore to give a speech at the 15th Singapore International Week (SIEW).
Minister Johnston will advocate Western Australia’s (WA) plans and successes in decarbonising the State’s economy, and will partake in a panel discussion on ‘Accelerating Low Carbon Solutions’ on Tuesday, 25 October 2022.
Minister Johnston said WA has exciting investment and trade prospects, as well as a safe and secure corporate environment and world-leading innovation in a variety of vibrant industries.
“Our State has a significant role to play in supporting the global transition to net zero with an abundance of natural resources, including battery and critical minerals,” the Minister stated.
According to the Minister, WA is also well-positioned to become a green hydrogen producer and exporter.
“In less than a decade, Western Australia has successfully established a multi-billion dollar critical minerals processing industry, driven by projects that will produce clean energy technologies, including rechargeable batteries, electric vehicles and wind turbines,” Minister Johnston added.
The Minister will also meet with Singapore’s Trade and Industry Minister and other key decarbonisation stakeholders to talk about investment prospects and why WA is a desirable business location.
