The first Li-ion battery anode facility in Europe has been successfully commissioned and is now operational.

Talga’s Electric Vehicle Anode (EVA) certification factory in northern Sweden is Europe’s first Li-ion battery anode plant, now supplying coated anode for battery customer qualification.

The EVA plant uses graphite concentrate from the Vittangi Graphite Project, Talga’s wholly-owned project, to produce Talga’s flagship Li-ion battery anode product Talnode®-C.

“With demand for clean graphite anode rising, Talga’s Electric Vehicle Anode plant is an important step in the journey for the establishment of a European EV and battery supply chain. We look forward to starting delivering large-scale samples to engaged EV battery customers,” said Talga Managing Director, Mark Thompson in an ASX Release.

Adertisement

According to the ASX Announcement, over 20 battery manufacturers and automotive customers have signed up to receive Talnode®-C samples in order to qualify and acquire large-scale EV batteries.

On Friday, April 1, 2022, consumers, government officials, and local stakeholders will gather to celebrate the plant’s official opening.

On the 2nd of April 2022, a community open house will be hosted.
