The Australian Government and NRMA have deployed the first fast electric vehicle (EV) charging station under the National EV Charging Network.
The Federal Government said the delivery of the EV charging station, located in Mudgee, is an essential step in its plan to build 117 fast EV charging stations across Australia.
The pair of ultrafast 180kW chargers, located just off the Castlereagh Highway, are compatible with all EVs now on the market and could charge Australia’s most popular EVs from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
This is part of the $500 million Driving the Nation Fund, which comprises $39.3 million from the government matched by the NRMA to deliver the National EV Charging Network.
The network will connect towns and cities from coast to coast, giving drivers more confidence in purchasing an EV.
