The Western Australian (WA) Government has announced funding of up to $10,000 for WA innovators to host supporting events during the AgriFutures evokeAG 2024.

The funding will support various complementary side events, including trade shows, investment forums, workshops, roundtables, and site tours.

“This funding for supporting events will help successful applicants – particularly those from the regions – to bring their story to Perth or attract evokeAG visitors across the State,” Regional Development Minister Don Punch said.

The supporting events provide an opportunity to highlight WA products, services, innovations, and regional strengths while exploring prospects and solutions to global agrifood and beverage supply chain concerns.

The State Government is collaborating with evokeAG 2024 to host the two-day event, themed ‘Exceptional Edge,’ which gathers over 1600 attendees from 20 nations.

“I am excited for WA to host evokeAG 2024. The event will attract leaders, innovators, researchers and farmers from around the globe,  and allow industry to share insights and explore the very latest in agrifood-tech,” Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis said.

According to the State Government, autonomous vehicles, remote sensors and monitoring, digital traceability, online marketing, extensive data analysis, and decarbonisation are all part of modern food and beverage supply chains.

The event will feature global food, technology, and sustainability leaders to tackle global challenges such as global food security, climate change, and resource management.

Commercial businesses, food and beverage processors and manufacturers, universities, consultants, researchers, start-ups, grower groups, industry associations, and others are urged to apply for funding.

“I encourage the WA agrifood and beverage sector to take the opportunity to capitalise on this terrific event by hosting side events that explore investment opportunities across our State,” Minister Jarvis said.

The evokeAG 2024 is set to be held on 20-21 February 2024 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
