EQ Resources Limited (EQR) has set a new daily concentrate production record at its Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine, in line with the mining and production ramp-up schedule.

The operations team set a new record by producing 11.1* tonnes of 50% WO3 concentrate over a 24-hour shift roster at its Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine open pit mining operations.

EQR saw considerable gains from the installation of its new TOMRA in July, which has some of the increased program benefits of the sorters’ newer generation programming. Improved accuracy results in a cleaner XRT Sorter concentrate for downstream processing and increased sorting plant running time.

Another advantage of the Gravity Plant is that the higher the grade of the feed to the plant, the higher the rate of tungsten recovery. The Gravity Plant recovered +80% of its tungsten in July and August and recovered +85% of its tungsten in September, which is very significant for the operation and now better than projected based on the feasibility work completed.

Adertisement

The higher-grade ore flowing from the Open Pit and through the Gravity Plant resulted in the daily production of more than 8* tonnes of 50% WO3 concentrate in the week preceding the announcement.

“The open pit operations are still ramping up and operating at around 65% capacity to date, which is in line with our ramp-up schedule. So, there is still additional capacity to be added to our production profile which we are seeing as the Golding and EQR teams settle into their respective roles with the open cut mining and associated production,” EQR Chief Executive Officer Kevin MacNeill said.
