Ampol has granted Saunders International Limited a $9.3 million contract to deliver a new fuel storage tank at Lytton Refinery in the Port of Brisbane.

The project’s scope involves the design and construction of a new 31-metre-wide, 20-metre-high jet fuel storage tank that will meet the strict quality assurance criteria involved with the storage and delivery of aviation fuels to airports.

Throughout the construction period, Lytton Refinery will continue to run, and Saunders will collaborate closely with the Ampol operational team to optimise design planning, ensuring the market receives high-quality fuels.

The contract is part of Ampol’s Future Fuels Desulphurisation Project at the refinery, which aims to increase fuel security in Australia while also providing lower-emission fuel to consumers.

“We’re incredibly proud of our long?standing relationship with Ampol, and excited to have been awarded this strategically significant project,” Saunders Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Mark Benson said.

Project mobilisation is set to begin this month, with completion scheduled for the end of 2024. From FY24 to FY25, the project will add to Saunders’ revenue and profitability.
