Strandline Resources Limited reported the completion of its fifth shipment of Heavy Mineral Concentrate (HMC) valued at A$11.7 million, with another shipment scheduled for May 2023.

The latest shipment of 10,550t brings the Company’s total HMC exports to over 46,000t since commercial production began at its Coburn mineral sands project in Western Australia on 18 November 2022.

These shipments have generated total revenue of A$48 million, with the prices of the critical minerals included in the HMC cargoes continuing to remain robust.

Strandline reached another significant milestone in April when it successfully transitioned to depositing sand tailings (waste) into a recently mined-out pit (Central Pit A). According to Strandline, this is an essential step in Coburn’s mine backfill and rehabilitation process.

Adertisement

For periods when two (of the three) Dozer Mining Units are operational, the Wet Concentration Plant (WCP) continues to run at near-nameplate levels in terms of ore throughput, heavy mineral recoveries, and HMC product grade. The primary focus at the MSP continues to be on boosting consistency at these nameplate levels by improving equipment and plant availability, improving mine planning, and improving mineral recoveries to final product streams.

“The ramp-up of Coburn continues to progress well, albeit having to navigate through greenfield commissioning issues. The WCP continues to demonstrate the ability to operate at nameplate ore throughput levels and we are starting to make solid gains in commissioning the downstream MSP. We are delighted to have already generated ~$48m in revenue so far and we look forward to growing this as production continues to ramp up,” Strandline Managing Director Luke Graham said.
