Red Dirt Metals Limited presented an update on the regulatory approval process for the Mt Ida Lithium Project’s Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) mining operation.
According to Red Dirt, the Mining Proposal and Mine Closure Plan for the Mt Ida Lithium Project’s DSO have been submitted. At the same time, Red Dirt also reported submitting applications for the Native Vegetation Clearing Permit (NVCP).
Red Dirt has completed a critical project milestone for Mt Ida by submitting the Mining Proposal and Mine Closure Plan to the Western Australian Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS).
The submission is for a lithium DSO mining operation that Red Dirt hopes to start in late 2023 while continuing work on Mt Ida Lithium Project to transform it into a lithium concentrate producer.
“This is an amazing achievement by the Red Dirt team. Meeting the ambitious timeframes for such an important milestone demonstrates their skill and dedication to the task. It’s remarkable for the Company to be in such a position within 6 months of releasing its maiden resource estimate,” Executive Chairman David Flanagan said.
Flanagan stated that management efforts continue to be focused on defining the capital and operating costs for the DSO operation, enabling a Final Investment Decision following the DMIRS approval to mine.
