Genex Power Limited announced that 40 Tesla Megapack units have arrived at the Bouldercombe Battery Project (BBP) site, marking a key milestone in the project’s construction.

According to Genex, achieving the major Project milestone considerably reduces the total construction schedule and signals the arrival of the final piece of critical equipment at the Project.

The following key work activities will now take place on-site to prepare the Project for commissioning:

  • Completing all electrical connections from the Megapack units to the step-up transformer;
  • Completing all interface works with Powerlink Queensland, including the electrical and communication links; and
  • Pre-commissioning of the Megapack units

The BBP is located near Rockhampton, Queensland, and once operational, according to Genex, it will be one of the State’s first large-scale battery energy storage systems.

Adertisement

Tesla will operate the BBP with its own algorithm-based bidding system, Autobidder, to maximise annual revenue.

Furthermore, as part of the Autobidder Offtake Agreement with Genex, Tesla will deliver a

minimum level of contracted revenues. Moreover, the Agreement allows Genex to capture revenue from a specific guaranteed amount, ensuring that Genex shares in the revenue upside from important pricing occurrences.
