Tivan Limited has established a Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to provide independent technical advice and support the progression of its vanadiferous titanomagnetite projects.

The group will boost Tivan’s company-wide skills matrix across various fields directly relevant to the company’s project and commercial interests, which include mining, engineering, construction, critical minerals processing and renewable energy technologies.

The company’s board views the formation of the group as an important initiative that can broaden its corporate profile on a global basis, which is consistent with its strategic mission.

The board also established a Governance Charter to provide appropriate oversight for the function of TAG and may request independent briefings from the group on specific matters from time to time.

Adertisement

The charter, which will meet on a regular basis, will be overseen and chaired by Tivan Executive Chairman Grant Wilson.

The company initially appointed Stephane Leblanc and Simon Flowers to TAG, with a third member expected to be announced in early June.

Leblanc previously served as managing director of Rio Tinto Iron and Titanium, with operational, commercial and marketing responsibility for the company.

He also led a broad range of demonstration plants, which include plants that decarbonise ilmenite, produce lithium concentrate and recover scandium oxides.

Meanwhile, Flowers is a chartered engineer and project delivery professional that specialises in the development and delivery of sustainable solutions for the industrial sector.

He currently serves as the director and principal of Sustainergy Consulting Pty Limited.

Earlier in his career, Flowers led an international team with energy firm ConocoPhillips, where he was responsible for delivering strategic business change initiatives and programmes of engineering projects on onshore and offshore hydrocarbon processing facilities.

In establishing the initial membership, priority has been given to Tivan’s project requirements, including the facilitation of the company’s proposed pilot plant and processing facility at the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Precinct in Darwin.
