With assistance from the Western Australian (WA) Government, a group of WA innovators is preparing to attend evokeAG, Asia Pacific’s leading agrifood tech conference.
evokeAG is the Asia Pacific region’s premier agrifood tech event, exploring the future potential of agrifood technology and investment.
Eight WA participants will each earn $2000 to attend the Adelaide event later this month.
According to the McGowan Government, the participants’ broad sectors include tech solutions, vertical farming, seasonal employment platforms, waste reduction, fly larvae farming for protein production and waste management, and the development of lupin-based plant proteins.
They will join Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) officers to highlight agtech development ideas and prospects for the State.
The recipients are:
- Rob Kelly – Agora Livestock Markets;
- Steve Wildisen – Xsights Digital;
- Wes Lawrence – Axis Tech;
- Julia Prichodko – Eden Towers;
- Nicholas Terpkos – Waytree;
- Chava Berrill – Nork;

Food Minister Jackie Jarvis stated that the innovative companies offer a fascinating insight into the future of agriculture and food.
“evokeAG brings together delegates from across the nation and abroad to talk about global agrifood innovation and technology trends,” Minister Jarvis said.
According to Minister Jarvis, it’s terrific to assist companies in pushing the boundaries and driving innovation in the agtech field.
“Together with DPIRD, we will be showcasing what WA has to offer – high quality and reliable food production, a vibrant food and beverage export sector with close proximity and linkages to Asian markets and a strong agtech scene,” Minister Jarvis stated.
The Minister added, “The McGowan Government continues to back research and development to support our vital primary industries and drive agtech advances in WA.”
The evokeAG 2023 Down to Earth conference, organised by AgriFutures Australia, will take place on 21 and 22 February 2023.
