Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis announced that the AgriFutures evokeAG, the Asia-Pacific region’s leading agrifood tech event, will be held in Perth in 2024.
According to the Western Australian Government, evokeAG will attract agrifood innovators worldwide, including farmers, processors, innovators, accelerators, start-ups, researchers, universities, corporations, governments, and investors.
These innovators will consider future opportunities to improve technology and investment in the agrifood, fibre, and fisheries industries.
“Driving innovation and increasing adoption of technology across the agrifood supply chain is a key priority of the McGowan Government,” Minister Jarvis said.
Minister Jarvis stated that AgriFutures and DPIRD have a solid working relationship, and it has been planned for several years to bring evokeAG to Perth.
“We look forward to hosting evokeAG – bringing together innovators from across the country and around the world, to look at new possibilities for food and farming in the future,” Minister Jarvis added.
evokeAG will collaborate with the McGowan Government to connect national and international representatives and to highlight innovation.
Since its start in 2019, the event has risen in popularity and was most recently held in Adelaide, where it drew over 1,600 delegates from 20 nations.
“evokeAG is an important event that will attract hundreds of out-of-State delegates from across Australia and around the world and provide an important economic boost for the State,” Tourism Minister Roger Cook said.
Minister Cook stated that business events benefit the State’s tourism and hospitality industry not just by attracting interstate and international delegates but also by enhancing the reputation of the State in hosting such events and highlighting the excellent tourism options that Perth and other regions have to offer.
“This event also allows WA to showcase not only our capacity in the agritech field, but also what the State has to offer to visitors, from world-class food to unique tourism experiences,” Minister Cook added.
evokeAG will be held on the 20th and 21st of February 2024 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
