Winsome Resources Limited has announced the discovery of a new lithium-bearing pegmatite dyke swarm at the Adina Project.
According to Winsome, drilling has identified new a lithium-bearing pegmatite dyke swarm at Adina, located in the footwall zone of the deposit below the previous drilling.
The footwall zone has now been intersected in drilling over a strike length of 760 m, with the company saying the lithium mineralisation in the zone occurs as spodumene crystals hosted in pegmatite with no obvious visual differences to the main zone mineralisation observed during logging.
The discovery of a new zone of lithium mineralisation significantly changes the potential endowment at Adina and is anticipated to enhance the potential to develop a viable lithium operation.
The outcrop of the footwall zone is yet to be identified, however, Winsome noted that with the advent of spring and improved access, ground checking will be conducted to confirm if the zone does come to surface.
Currently, there are three rigs on site at the main zone, but the company is mobilising a fourth rig to increase drilling and provide better data to inform geological and resource modelling.
A total of 54 holes have been completed for 14,847 m by the end of April.
Winsome noted that assays to date have been received for 40 of the drill holes.
“The discovery of a new zone of mineralisation at Adina adds further evidence to our belief that this is a globally significant lithium project. This new zone is anticipated to contribute to our main resource estimate, due later in 2023, as well as enhancing the viability of the project, and further drilling is now underway to define its up-dip extent, closer to surface. Once again this is due to the good work of our dedicated team on the ground, and I am pleased to be in Canada again being part of the intensive drilling campaign that continues at Adina,” Winsome Managing Director Chris Evans said.
