Imperial Oil Resources Limited (Imperial) has granted WorleyCord a five-year master services agreement for ongoing construction and fabrication services at Imperial’s Kearl oil sands processing facility in Alberta, Canada.
In a statement, WorleyCord said the company is a Worley subsidiary and is a fully integrated EPC contractor and a solo general contractor.
WorleyCord will perform offsite fabrication and module assembly from its Edmonton modularisation yard, as well as construction services at the Kearl processing complex in the Fort McMurray area of Alberta, under the terms of the agreement. WorleyCord will use robotic welding in fabrication and Microsoft’s HoloLensTM to make remote site visits and inspections safer and more efficient.
“Having worked together for more than 30 years, we are pleased to strengthen our relationship with Imperial by expanding our services to Kearl,” Worley Chief Executive Officer Chris Ashton said.
According to Imperial, Kearl is one of Canada’s highest-quality oil sands resources and is being developed utilising cost-cutting and environmental-improvement technologies.
